There are a number of methods for installing Red Hat Linux, the more common being from the bootable installation CD. This guide will take you through installing the operating system from a network, using a pair of Linux 9.0 boot diskettes. The following will require an FTP Server with the Red Hat 9.0 installation files.
Creating Disk 1 [Boot Disks]
Do a Google search for linux90_disk1.exe and place it in a directory on your hard disk. Double click on this self-extracting zip file and extract the files rawrite.exe and bootdisk.img to the same directory. Insert a floppy disk. Open a command prompt window logged into the same directory and type the following:
rawrite -f bootdisk.img -d a:
Creating Disk 2 [Network Driver Disk]
Do a Google search for linux90_disk2.exe and place it in a directory on your hard disk. Double click on this self-extracting zip file and extract the files rawrite.exe and drvnet.img to the same directory. Insert a second floppy disk. Open a command prompt window logged into the same directory and type the following:
rawrite -f drvnet.img -d a:
